Williams will continue to use Cosworth engines in 2011, company chairman Adam Parr has confirmed.
Williams is currently in the first season of a three-year supply contract with Cosworth, but had been linked with a Renault customer engine deal after coming close to signing with the French manufacturer last year.
"We are with Cosworth and I am very happy to confirm that that will continue next season," Parr told reporters at Silverstone on Thursday.
Cosworth has made improvements to its engine this season after friction between the two parties earlier in the year, and in last month's European Grand prix both Williams FW32s made it into Q3 in dry conditions for the first time.
But despite continuing with Cosworth, which returned to Formula 1 this year after three years on the sidelines, Parr is hopeful that the team will be able to secure a factory engine deal in the future.
"In the long-term, the best model for an independent Formula 1 team is to have a partnership with a car manufacturer that provides engines, some sponsorship and wants to go racing," he said.
"The team has had some fantastic partnership with BMW, Honda and Renault in the past and I think that's ultimately where we would like to go again."
Williams has used customer engines since its partnership with BMW ended after the 2005 season. Since then, its cars have been powered by Cosworth and Toyota units.

Cosworth pleased with Bahrain showing
Cosworth's general manager Mark Gallagher declared himself very satisfied with the performance of the company's engines on its return to Formula 1.
Four Cosworth-powered cars made it to the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday, with Rubens Barrichello scoring a point for tenth in the Williams.
Team-mate Nico Hulkenberg finished in 14th place, while the Cosworth-engined Lotus cars of Heikki Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli were classified in 15th and 17th respectively.
"After the many months of work developing and implementing our return as an engine supplier to Formula 1 it was good to finally get the racing underway," said Gallagher, whose company had not been in F1 since the end of the 2006 season.
"It was satisfying to see all four of our teams in action and to witness the three new teams enjoy their Formula 1 debuts.
"From an engine performance point of view, I think we can be very satisfied with the performance of the CA2010 in Bahrain with both Williams drivers finishing the race with Rubens picking up a championship point for tenth."
Gallagher said Cosworth had received positive feedback from its customer teams and drivers.
"We have spoken with our technical counterparts in each of the teams on a regular basis to ensure that we are meeting our targets and objectives," he added. "I have also spoken to several of the drivers who have given us positive and constructive feedback on the CA2010 performance and driveability.
"We have accumulated a lot of track data from Bahrain, a circuit that is quite demanding on the engine, and this will be thoroughly examined and analysed by our team of engineers back in Northampton.
"Overall, it has been a solid start to Cosworth's 2010 season, in terms of engine performance and reliability."

Cosworth returns to the track with AT&T Williams and Virgin Racing
Cosworth has enjoyed its first Formula 1 track action as an engine supplier since 2006 as the company accelerated preparations for the 2010 season with two of its customer teams this week.
The AT&T Williams team carried out a three-day test session at the Valencia circuit in Spain, putting Cosworth’s CA2010 V8 engine through its paces in earnest for the first time at a race track. The new Virgin Racing team unveiled its Cosworth-powered, digitally-designed VR-01 race car for the first time on Wednesday before carrying out an initial shakedown of the new car at Silverstone today. How important have this week’s activities been for Cosworth’s pre-season preparations?
“We have been delighted to get started with pre-season testing in Valencia with Williams this week as it was our first opportunity to run the CA2010 in the back of a race car with all of the implications that that brings. Developing and testing an engine in our facilities in Northampton is one thing but committing it to the track takes us into an entirely new phase of our programme.”
What work was carried out with the AT&T Williams team in Valencia this week?
“Our work with Williams has been very important in order to collect data, driver feedback and to gauge the initial results from the marriage of the new CA2010 engine to the all-new FW32 chassis. Our first measure of performance was always going to be durability and the fact that Rubens and Nico completed over 1,200kms between them showed that engine reliability has been in line with our expectations. We also looked at the overall success of the installation, seeing how the engine works together with the Williams transmission and checking all associated systems, pressures, cooling, temperatures. From a human point of view, Valencia was the first time that our dedicated team of track support technicians and engineers worked as an integrated part of the Williams team, which is a key aspect of the working relationship, so in that regard it was an important milestone. We now look forward to next week’s Jerez test where we can take our technical programme with the team to the next level.”
What do you make of the recently launched Virgin-Cosworth VR-01?
“It was very rewarding to see the Virgin-Cosworth VR-01 unveiled this week and to welcome the first of our new teams into Formula 1. We have developed a strong working relationship with Virgin Racing over the last few months and I’d like to congratulate Nick Wirth and his design team for the results of their efforts. We are doing all we can to support them from the outset of their F1 activities and when they join Williams in Jerez next week we will have two teams on track which will greatly enhance our pre-season activities.”

Coswoth shipping engines
Cosworth’s first batch of Formula One engines destined for use by its five customer teams in pre-season testing was completed prior to Christmas ahead of schedule, and is ready for shipping from the company’s Northampton headquarters
AT&T Williams, Campos Meta, Lotus F1 Racing, US F1 and Virgin Racing are set to use Cosworth engines for 2010-12 inclusive, and the company is preparing for pre-season testing which takes place throughout February. In two months the teams will be in Bahrain preparing for the season opener, the event marking Cosworth’s return as an engine supplier for the first time since 2006.

Cosworth confident on new teams
Cosworth general manager of F1 Mark Gallagher is confident that the four new teams are on target to be on the grid at the start of the 2010 Formula 1 season.
Lotus, Campos Meta, US F1 and Manor Grand Prix will all run Cosworth powerplants next year, and Gallagher is encouraged by the progress the teams are making.
"We are aware of what the teams are doing both technically and financially and we are impressed," Gallagher told AUTOSPORT. "They are doing everything that we would expect of a team at this stage and we have no reason to have any doubts that they will be ready.
"They have all worked hard to fulfil their commitments to Cosworth and on the technical front are behaving in exactly the way you would expect them to. They are asking the right questions and doing a good job of liaising with us on the technical side.
"There are very well-respected people involved in all four teams and they are going about their preparations for next season in the right way.
"All four are professional setups that have impressed us a lot with their approach and you only need to look at what they have achieved in the past few months to realise that these are very serious teams."
Doubts had been raised over the progress being made by the new teams, with US F1 in particular the subject of intense speculation, but Gallagher has no doubt that all four outfits are well-advanced in designing and building their cars for 2010.
Although the new teams have been wary to make too many public comments about their ambitions, all four insist that they will have cars ready to hit the track when pre-season testing kicks off next February.
"We are probably better-placed than anyone to make a judgement on how the teams are doing," added Gallagher. "We are in regular dialogue with all of them and have seen how much progress they have made in recent months.
"There has been a lot of rubbish said about the new teams recently, but nothing we have seen has given us any cause to have any doubts. We're very pleased to be involved with teams that have a very good chance of causing a surprise or two over the course of next year."
As well as supplying the four new teams with 2.4-litre V8, Cosworth will also power Williams next year in a deal revealed two weeks ago.
