Horner RBR can win anywhere

Monday, 13 July 2009 12:16

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says his squad's German Grand Prix one-two proves it is now ready to take Brawn on in any conditions.

Although the Brawns were again slowed by their problems generating tyre temperature in the cool weather, as had been the case at Silverstone, Horner reckons his car is now simply the faster package.

"I think we'll see at Budapest, it's usually quite warm there, but I don't think the temperature was everything today," he said.

"The performance of the car was very good, and the drivers drove brilliantly.

"There are no high-speed corners here, so it was not high-speed corners (giving Red Bull an advantage) this weekend."

Horner believes momentum is now on Red Bull's side after its second straight one-two.

"We've taken a big haul of points out of the Brawns this weekend and both drivers have got closer in the championship too," he said.

"We'll just take each weekend as it comes, and with a few more weekends like this one and Silverstone, we will catch them.

"We're going to keep pushing, keep developing every race.

"The guys in Milton Keynes are doing a brilliant job.

"We've managed to get a little bit of performance on the car again this weekend, we'll do the same in Budapest and just keep pushing.

"I think we've got a very good basis now."

But he did admit that the season could yet turn back in Brawn's favour as there is still a long way to go.

"The pendulum's swung the last few events, but I think it will probably swing again over the next few events," Horner added.

"It could go against us at the Hungaroring.

"We're just going to focus race by race and the championship will take care of itself."
