The Campos Meta 1 team will race under the name HRT F1 - Hispania Racing F1 Team - following Jose Ramon Carabante's acquisition of the Spanish outfit last month.
The decision was announced on Wednesday morning, together with the news that the team will be presented in Murcia, Spain on Thursday.
It is expected HRT will then confirm Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok as its racing drivers, with Jose Maria Lopez believed to be on the verge of securing a deal to become the team's reserve following the collapse of US F1.
AUTOSPORT understands that team founder Adrian Campos, who sold his stake in the team to Carabante last month, will stay onboard as executive vice-president.
Hispania Racing, named after one of Carabante's companies, said it will continue to push with plans to build its base in Murcia, but it is expected to operate from Campos's factory in Alzira, Alicante in the meantime.
The team will be led by Colin Kolles, who has appointed as team principal and managing director last month.
"The new team name signifies a new birth for our Formula 1 ambitions and highlights the incredible effort that is going on behind the scenes to ensure we make a successful debut in Bahrain on 14 March," said Kolles on Wednesday.
"While we are a new team in the paddock, we will be very proud to stand alongside such legendary names as Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and Lotus, as we hope to build our own reputation in the coming years."

Lopez closing in on Campos reserve deal
Jose Maria Lopez is closing in on a deal to become the Campos Meta team's reserve driver after his deal to race with the US F1 team did not come to fruition due to the American squad's problems.
Argentinean Lopez was the first driver to be confirmed at the Charlotte-based outfit, but the American team is set to miss at least the start of the season, having not even unveiled its car yet.
Lopez's management has been hard at work trying to release the driver from his contract, and is now seeking to secure a seat with the Campos Meta team.
The Spanish outfit has signed Bruno Senna and said last week it was close to a deal with India Karun Chandhok.
Victor Rosso, part of Lopez's management team, told Argentinean radio Cadena 3 that a reserve driver role at Campos was now the most likely possibility for the Argentinean.
"There are a lot of chances that he will be a reserve at Campos," Rosso said. "At this moment Felipe McGough [Lopez's manager] is finalising the details to release him from the contract with US F1 and to get his money back. It all depends on the termination of the contract.
"We made it clear to the Americans that he should not be treated like another businessman, but rather like a person that got the money thanks to a lot of effort and that this is the last chance he will have to race in Formula 1."

Campos car passes final crash test
Campos Meta 1's pre-season preparations received a boost on Tuesday when the team's Formula 1 car passed its final mandatory FIA crash test, AUTOSPORT has learned.
The Spanish team's 2010 challenger is being developed by Italian constructor Dallara, and the progress on the technical front comes as the outfit closes on a financial deal that will secure its place on the grid.
Team principal Adrian Campos told AUTOSPORT that he was pleased with the rate of development being made ahead of a debut test in Spain next month, despite speculation over recent weeks suggesting the team was struggling to raise the money needed to start the season.
"The car is now homologated and we are still working very, very hard," said Campos. "We are very confident about our position, and we are close to a deal with an investor that will help us even more."
Campos is targeting joining some of the other new teams and running for the first time at the second Jerez test, which takes place from February 17-20. If it does not make that test, however, it will run at Barcelona at the end of the month.
The team hopes to be able to announce its second driver in the next fortnight, with Bruno Senna having already signed up for this year.

Teixeira linked with Campos role
A1GP boss Tony Teixeira has been linked with a deal to buy into the new Campos Grand Prix team, with the Spanish outfit considering options to bring in outside investors.
Campos Meta is pressing on full speed ahead with its preparations to join the grid in 2010, but having not yet signed off all the sponsorship deals it needs, it is looking at other potential revenue streams - which includes bringing an investor on-board.
Sources have revealed that one of the options being looked at is for Teixeira to buy a part of the team – which would give the outfit a financial boost on the eve of the season.
It is understood that Teixeira is one of several interested parties that the team is in talks with as it works on finalising its 2010 budget.
Teixeira has made no secret of the fact that he has looked at options within Formula 1 – having been one of the parties interested in buying the former Honda team at the beginning of 2009.
Speaking in February last year, Teixeira told AUTOSPORT: "I was one of the guys talking to Honda in the last two weeks. We had done a deal on Spyker, but I let Vijay [Mallya] take it... We then went to Toro Rosso in November and all the [other] teams said 'no customer cars' so I had to walk away.
"Today I'm in a completely different situation. I've built my own cars and designed my own chassis. I have my own factory. So I'm not a customer boss. I can now build my chassis and run with a Ferrari engine. I'm now the same as everyone else."
Dallara is finishing off the Campos Meta car, which the team hopes to run for the first time in February – even though it may not make the first test at Valencia.
Bruno Senna is the only driver who has been confirmed by Campos so far, with the team continuing negotiations with a second driver.

Campos thrilled with Dallara's progress
The Campos team is confident that it is well on course to be ready for its first Formula 1 season after driver Bruno Senna had a seat fitting at the Dallara factory.
Senna is the first driver to be signed by Adrian Campos's team, which the Spaniard is running in collaboration with the Meta organisation. Italian constructor Dallara is providing cars for the project.
"With each visit to Dallara, the advances in the car are more evident and we are starting to see it in its final size after having observed the development on scale during the wind tunnel working stage," said Campos.
Toni Cuquerella, the Campos engineer overseeing Dallara's work, added that the team had been able to get a head-start on its preparations for the 2010 races.
"The project is really advanced and we have already passed all the internal tests of homologation," he said. "Dallara has been working extraordinarily hard for months and we are really happy with the results up to now.
"Thanks to the current advanced development of the car and the data provided by Dallara, we have been able to carry out the first simulations in almost all the circuits that will organise a Formula 1 grand prix in 2010."
Senna was also delighted with current progress - and particularly the significant moment of his seat fitting.
"Being able to sit inside the car, do a seat fit and allow Dallara to make a tailor made, moulded seat, taking into account my exact height and proportions, constitutes another step forward in order to be present in the F1 group test sessions in February," said the Brazilian.
"I have raced in cars made by Dallara before and I trust completely in their way of working as well as their experience and quality.
"We are a new team and we are going to struggle at the beginning for sure, but if we keep on working in this direction, we will be able to make a good debut in our first season."

Campos honoured to give Senna F1 shot
Campos Meta 1 has said it is an honour to hand Bruno Senna his chance in Formula 1, after finally confirming that it has agreed a deal with the Brazilian.
Senna himself suggested a contract had been signed on his Twitter page on Friday night, but it took Campos until early Saturday morning to confirm the news.
Speaking about the deal, Campos Meta CEO Enrique Rodriguez de Castro said: "For Campos Meta 1, it is an extraordinary honour to be returning the name Senna to Formula 1.
"The deal with Senna confirms and re-enforces our prime objective of being not only the first Spanish Formula 1 team, but rather the first Iberian-American F1 team. The 2014 World Cup, the 2016 Olympics, and three drivers in F1 - it's clear that Brazil is coming up."
Senna himself said about the news: "I'm absolutely delighted to fulfil a lifetime dream. Now it is time to set new targets. The project that Campos Meta 1 developed is designed to succeed both on and off the track."
De Castro also said he was surprised at the speed by which Senna had made it into F1, considering he only made the move to single seaters a few years ago.
"We have followed him closely since his early days in minor series and testified how quickly he developed his speed and skills at GP2 to become one of the most promising up-and-coming drivers of his generation.
"It is astonishing how fast he is entering the F1 scenario after just a few years in motor racing."

Campos, Manor and US F1
When the FIA opened entries for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, it received applications from 15 potential new teams. All of those entries underwent a stringent due diligence process to ensure that new teams have the required level of funding, resources, experience and technical expertise to compete at the highest level of motor sport. Three of those teams have been confirmed for 2010 and further due diligence is currently taking place on other potential entries. Detailed below is information from the FIA about each of the new teams that will compete in the championship from next year.
Company Name: Campos Meta1 S.A.
Team Name: Campos Meta
Country: Spain
Team Principal: Adrian Campos Suner
The Campos Racing team was launched in 1998 by ex-Formula One driver Adrian Campos. Since that time, it has competed in various championships from GP2 to Euro F3. It has won six driver championships and five team championships. Likewise, during the 2008 season, with Adrian Campos as the team principal of the Campos Grand Prix Team and shareholder of the Campos GP2 Team, Campos Grand Prix won the GP2 Series title.
Campos Racing is running the Campos Meta team in conjunction with Meta Image, a Madrid-based sports agency which specialises in event management, sponsorship acquisition, PR and image rights marketing.
The Campos Meta team’s headquarters are based in Madrid, which houses the marketing and administrative departments. The technical centre is based at Campos Racing’s current headquarters in Valencia, 25km from the Ricardo Tormo race track. This facility currently manages design and development for the Campos Racing F3 and Mexico A1GP teams.
As part of its application to compete in the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, Campos has agreed an engine supply deal with Cosworth and technical partnerships with Dallara Automobili and Xtrac.
Company Name: Manor Grand Prix Racing
Team Name: Manor F1 Team
Country: United Kingdom
Team Principal: John Alfred Booth
The Manor name came into racing in 1990 when former single-seater champion John Booth decided to establish his own team. Since that time, Manor's record of success includes some 171 Race Wins and 19 Championship Titles in championships such as Formula Renault and Formula 3 Euroseries.
Manor is based in the UK across two sites, one in Sheffield and the other in Bicester. Its technical innovation is characterised by the fact that the race cars are designed, tested and refined entirely in the digital domain using the processes originally developed by Wirth Research Limited (WRL).
WRL is an engineering company, founded by Nick Wirth in 2003, which specialises in research, development and manufacturing in the high technology sector. WRL's designs were successful in winning both the 2004 and 2005 lndy Racing League championships and it has recently produced race winning designs for Honda competing in the American Le Mans Series.
Wirth, who is the Technical Director of Manor Grand Prix Racing, started his career as an Aerodynamicist for the March F1 racing team. He was responsible for aerodynamic concepts as well as scheming and design of wind tunnel model components for the 1988 and 1989 Leyton House March F1 cars.
From 1993 to 1995, Wirth was Founder/Owner/Technical Director of the Simtek F1 team, which started in the 1994 F1 championship. Simtek Research provided the team with all of the engineering and design of the cars. Wirth went on to become Chief Designer for the Benetton F1 team from 1996 to 1999.
As part of its application to compete in the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, Manor has agreed an engine supply deal with Cosworth.
Company Name: Team US F1
Team Name: Team US F1
Country: US
Team Principal: Ken Anderson
Team US F1 is a new racing operation but its directors have many years of motor sport experience and it has already attracted a host of investors.
US F1’s Team Principal Ken Anderson has been involved in motor sport for over 30 years. His experiences include designing and constructing multiple Indy 500 and IndyCar Series-winning race cars, operating as technical director for the Ligier and Onyx Formula One teams and creating the advanced Windshear Wind Tunnel.
Fellow team director Peter Windsor has worked in F1 for over 35 years as a journalist, team manager and consultant. He has worked as the team manager for the championship-winning Williams-Renault team, the manager for Ferrari’s F1 chassis and suspension departments and as a consultant for F1 drivers Nigel Mansell and Carlos Reutemann.
