Red Bull Racing Remains Renault-powered for 2010

16th December 2010

The engines which took RBR to second place in last season’s world championship will again be used in the 2010 challenge.
Renault has confirmed today it will continue to supply engines to Red Bull Racing in 2010, extending the successful partnership which has been in place since 2007, meaning we’ll use identical engines to those used by Renault F1 Team throughout 2010.
Team principal, Christian Horner, said: “2009 has been Red Bull Racing’s finest season to date. In one year, we’ve achieved six wins and four one-two finishes, none of which would have been possible without the excellent support and assistance we have received from our partners at Renault. We are extremely happy with the way they work with us and are looking forward to continuing our fruitful partnership in 2010.”
The news comes the same day Renault announced it will continue to race under the French car company’s name next year, in partnership with Genii Capital - a Luxemburg firm specializing in new technologies, brand management and motor sport.
Renault said: “In 2010, the team will retain its name, its identity and the core ingredients that led to the successes achieved in 2005 and 2006. The team will continue to be supplied with engines by its sister company in Viry-Châtillon, which is also pleased to have received the renewed commitment from Red Bull Racing.”
Renault F1 Team President, Bernard Rey, said: “We can confirm that our productive partnership with Red Bull Racing will continue in 2010. The close relationship between Renault and Red Bull Racing has grown since 2007. Together we believe that we can build on this success and contribute to Red Bull Racing’s future endeavours.”
